Caring for a child can be tough and very challenging. While every child is a joy to their parents, families of children with a disability find simple everyday living more difficult. Financial assistance, respite care - time out and community support can make a world of difference.

The Westfield Community Program  was launched in early 2008 to address these needs in our local communities. Each Westfield Centre across Australia partners with a local disability service provider to help improve the quality of life for children with disabilities and their families.

Westfield Southland encourages you to support its local community partner MOIRA - Disability & Youth Services.

MOIRA - Disability & Youth Services

Get Inspired

MOIRA -Disability & Youth Services is a not-for-profit organisation in the southern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, that provides a wide range of services to support people with disabilities, their families and carers, and youth in crisis.

The Interchange Southern program provides respite and recreation opportunities for families who have a child with a disability. The demand for MOIRA's services far exceeds the places available, with over 150 families waiting for a regular service. MOIRA rely heavily on volunteers for its host and recreation programs.

After going through the matching process we were introduced to an amazing young girl and her family. We instantly clicked and that was the beginning of what has developed into a wonderful friendship. We look forward to our visits as we love spending time with her and really enjoy her company - seeing her smile, brightens our day!"
