Local Community

Caring for a child can be tough and very challenging. While every child is a joy to their parents, families of children with a disability find simple everyday living more difficult. Financial assistance, respite care - time out and community support can make a world of difference.

The Westfield Community Program was launched in early 2008 to address these needs in our local communities. Each Westfield Centre across Australia partners with a local disability service provider to help improve the quality of life for children with disabilities and their families.

Westfield Penrith encourages you to support its local community partner Barnardos.

Barnardos

Get Inspired

Barnardos Penrith Disability Support Services (DSS) provides opportunities for vital recreational and social activities for children and adolescents with disabilities. The service also focuses on providing individual respite for adolescents to help relieve the pressure on families who provide love and care for young people with disabilities. Barnardos Penrith DSS, is unique in its approach as it works in close coordination with the whole range of Barnardos' child, youth and family focused programs in order to ensure that every aspect of the child's life is addressed including family stability, health, education, safety and emotional wellbeing.

Barnardos Penrith Disability Support Service helps children and young people between the ages of 5 and 20 years of age and holds strong to its vision of bringing fun, laughter and life learning into the lives of all children and young people regardless of their abilities.
