Local Community Partnership

Caring for a child can be tough and very challenging. While every child is a joy to their parents, families of children with a disability find simple everyday living more difficult. Financial assistance, respite care - time out and community support can make a world of difference.

The Westfield Community Program was launched in early 2008 to address these needs in our local communities. Each Westfield Centre across Australia partners with a local disability service provider to help improve the quality of life for children with disabilities their families.

Centacare - Southern Star Community Services provides flexible, creative, responsive and innovative assistance/service to people with a disability and their families.  Our aim is to provide assistance/service that meets the individual needs of the person with a disability while also respecting the valued place they fill in the their family and community.

Southern Star embraces contemporary thinking via the delivery of person-centred supports.  In this way, assistance/services are reflective of the person's interests, personality and individual preferences.

During the school holidays, the Holiday All Stars, operates at three (3) venues along the Gold Coast.  The Holiday All Stars aims to meet the specific needs of local families by offering children with a disability fun and exciting school holiday activities.
