Lace. It's the ideal fabric to use to embrace the new innocent 'prettier than pretty' trend which the leading international design houses such as Paul & Joe, Burberry Prorsum, Zac Posen and Stella McCartney have been celebrating in recent shows.
Lace also is a wonderful layering fabric for the winter months. Layering helps us to keep warm when out in the elements, but to adjust quickly when stepping into a heated room. Lace will keep the heat in without looking big and bulky.
Another reason to embrace lace? While you can work the sweet angel direction for day, by teaming with stronger fabrics including denim or leather, plus some rich red lipstick by night you use your lacy pieces to unleash the seductress.
Fashion Tip: Luscious lace adds a dollop of femininity to this season. Try adding a lace top or shirt under a man tailored suit for a softening effect. Otherwise go fully frivolous and wear a lace dress for a night of grand seduction. Lovers of 80’s cool will go nuts for the return of lace gloves a la Madonna.
