Dive Right In

  Every girl dreads it- that time of the year when you realise that beach weather has somehow snuck up on you and you find yourself, how do you say, ‘less than bikini-worthy’. It’s good to know, then, that there is a great selection of swimwear apparel and accessories out there if you are not so keen to frolic around the pool like a Bond girl in an itty-bitty two-piece.

Think 1970’s Hollywood for your pool-party look. The aim is to look gorgeously together in your outfit but also as though you could be out of your clothes and into the water with next to no fuss. Cool, fashionable and practical, jump suits and maxi dresses are perfect because they can easily be taken off and put on in one quick move.

Make sure you keep accessories to a minimum so you don’t have to spend ten minutes taking off layer after layer of bling before diving in. A bright beach bag, simple bracelet and your sun-smart sunglasses and hat will do you. Avoid wearing your expensive gold and silver jewellery as it looks out of place in a water environment (and you don’t want to risk losing them!) Opt for beachy leather, rope, beads and fabric styles instead. If you must wear a statement piece, go for a chunky rink in turquoise. Add a pair of metallic sandals to finish off the ensemble and you’ll look so chic you’ll be snagging your very own Daniel Craig before you know it!
