Springtime. The birds are singing, the flowers are blooming… and the shops are calling. Rightly so, I might add, because there’s no better time to invest in fashion than just as your diary starts to get booked up with afternoon parties and barbecues.
A warm outdoor event is a great opportunity to put on your most feminine ensemble. Use it as an excuse to get all girly and wear florals, prints, bright colours and embellished accessories. Frolic in your favourite frock and a pair of sandals or wedges that will keep you vertical in the soft grass! Maxi as well as knee-length dresses are great options, as are waisted skirts paired with a tucked-in blouse. Add a cute cardi over the top to cut back the chill factor as the sun sets, and you’re set!
Don’t shy away from accessories like decorative brooches, necklaces and hair barrettes - worn separately, of course. And as you can’t wear pastels, cottons and floral prints so much at night why not make the most of the chance to dress up during the day? Now, we just have to find a way to bring back social balls and dance cards…
