Hoorah for the festive season. It’s the time of year when you can indulge a little more than usual. Of course, I’m talking about indulging in fashion!
Celebrations this year call for a party frock. Don’t even consider wearing a pair of pants and if I hear you mention the ‘jeans’ I might just have to play the Grinch and cancel Christmas right now. Christmas parties are a great opportunity to dress up, and with the warmer weather here for good, it’s time to ditch the denim and show some skin.
Pick a dress that works for your body shape. A structured style works perfectly if you want to create some curves, while a shift or swing dress is a God-send if your legs are your best asset. Choose between sequins, sparkles, silk-satins and printed cottons. There is literally a dress to suit every woman for every type of party.
If you opt for a razzle-dazzle dress, keep the bling to a minimum. One cuff or statement ring and a pair of simple earrings are all you need. For more conservative dresses, amp up the accessories. Wear a classic block-coloured dress with diamante-detailed jewellery, or make your feet the focus with an off-beat pair of heels.
Really, is there a better way to forget deadlines and dramas than hitting the dance-floor in a new, to-die-for ensemble? I think not.
