Caring for a child can be tough and very challenging. While every child is a joy to their parents, families of children with a disability find simple everyday living more difficult. Financial assistance, respite care - time out and community support can make a world of difference.

The Westfield Community Program was launched in early 2008 to address these needs in our local communities. Each Westfield Centre across Australia partners with a local disability service provider to help improve the quality of life for children with disabilities and their families.

Westfield Carindale encourages you to support its local community partner MontroseAccess.

Get inspired

MontroseAccess’ services currently touch over 2,000 people throughout the year, including direct support to over 600 Queensland young people with a physical disability. Providing therapy, respite and recreation services, the holistic, family-centred approach means that the support of parents and siblings is just as important as direct therapy to their clients.

MontroseAccess’ clients age from newborn to young adults, who have physically disabling conditions of varying severity. The most prevalent conditions treated include neuromuscular conditions, juvenile Arthritis, Acquired Brain Injury, Athrogryposis and congenital and acquired bone and joint conditions.

“MontroseAccess is a fantastic organization; they don’t just provide Thomas with therapy, they provide us with understanding and support. If we didn’t have MontroseAccess there is no way we could receive all of the care he needs”. Bronwyn, mother of Thomas aged 4.
