Caring for a child can be tough and very challenging. While every child is a joy to their parents, families of children with a disability find simple everyday living more difficult. Financial assistance, respite care - time out and community support can make a world of difference.

The Westfield Community Program was launched in early 2008 to address these needs in our local communities. Each Westfield Centre across Australia partners with a local disability service provider to help improve the quality of life for children with disabilities and their families.

Westfield Burwood encourages you to support its local community partner FRANS.

FRANS

Get inspired

FRANS (Family Resource and Network Support Inc) stands by its motto, “making things happen for people with disabilities”, by providing respite to families/carers while supporting people with disabilities to live active, social and independent lives in the community.

FRANS’ person-centred focus means that respite for carers also enhances the life experience for their children, with programs teaching financial management, social skills development, and supported work and living options. It also facilitates social excursions to the many cultural and educational activities Sydney has to offer. Since its establishment in 1983, FRANS has grown into an invaluable support service for more than 350 families in Sydney’s Inner West.
